Introduction
1.1: What is Doctor Who?
Doctor Who is a British science fiction series produced by the BBC.
It originally aired from 1963-1989 before being taken off the air, only
to return in 2005 in a new format. It concerns the adventures of a
traveller in time and space (the Doctor) and a variety of human
companions. For more information, visit

1.2: Why are some episode titles listed as TBA?
It is felt that the titles themselves might prove to be spoilers at this
time. The titles of TBA episodes will be revealed nearer to their
release.
Background
2.1: What links do you have to the BBC?
Absolutely none. Doctor Who 2009 is a non-profit making
series of fan films not endorsed by the BBC. The Fan Film Network
is not in any way affiliated with the BBC.
2.2 What links do you have to UNICEF?
None at all, but we support their cause and request that anyone who gains enjoyment from our work makes a donation to them. If you wish, please donate to a different charity of your choice.
2.3: If it's non-profit making, how are these productions financed?
Through a mixture of money straight from the producers' pockets, along with the valuable time given to us by various highly creative individuals (writers, actors and behind the scenes crew), all of whom love Doctor Who and wanted to create something fun for their own enjoyment, and hopefully share the results with some like-minded individuals. The cast and crew stand to make no profit (either fiscally or otherwise) from the distribution of these fan-made episodes and hope that it encourages others to purchase the official BBC products, available here and here.
2.4: How long will this project run?
It is our aim to make 13 45-60 minute episodes (matching the length of the seasons broadcast in 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2008) across the next year, with episodes released periodically throughout.
2.5: How can I get involved?
Production is now already underway, with all major casting and crew
recruitment finalised. However, we may be
interested to hear from you regarding future projects - please feel free
to contact us if you feel you can contribute.
The Story
3.1: Who are the main characters?
As well as the Doctor (see 1.0), this series introduces companion
Alice Hemingway, a 25-year-old college student.
3.2: Will we see any villains from the original series?
The first episode features the Ice Warriors, who first appeared in a
story of that name in 1967. Throughout Doctor Who 2009, we may
just have some more surprises for you...
3.3: When is this series set in relation to the BBC series?
At some point in the future.
3.4: This is an American production. Will the Doctor sound English?
The Doctor will be portrayed as he always has been on the TV series. |
